ITINERARY: 2-DAY TOUR FROM FES TO MERZOUGA
DAY 1: FES – IFRANE – MIDDLE ATLAS – ZIZ VALLEY – MERZOUGA
Departure from Fes at around 8:00 am towards Merzouga. The first stop will be the little Switzerland of Morocco, Ifrane. After a coffee break, you will have the chance to watch the Barbary macaques in the cedar forest of Azrou. From here we will cross the Middle Atlas mountains to Midelt (also known as the apple capital of Morocco), where you can have lunch.
We will then continue over the Tizi-n-Talghemt pass (known as the pass of the she-camel) and along the Ziz Valley (an oasis full of palm trees and small traditional villages), with plenty of stops along the way.
On arrival in Merzouga in the afternoon, the camels and your guide will be waiting to take you across the Erg Chebbi dunes to the desert camp. You will watch an orange sunset from the top of a high dune. After a delicious dinner, the camp staff will light the fire, so you can sit around the campfire enjoying Berber music under a starry sky.

DAY 2: MERZOUGA – RISSANI – FES
Today we highly recommend an early wake-up to watch a spectacular, glorious sunrise. After a tasty breakfast at the camp, we will set off for Rissani (the cradle of the current ruling family). Here you can discover a traditional Moroccan market, if today is souk day (Tuesday, Thursday and Sunday). We will then return to Fes via Erfoud and again along the Ziz Valley. The 2-day desert tour from Fes ends with drop-off at your accommodation in Fes.
